Dreams do come true

As I have written before, Jamie has been excited to see New York for some time. "I just can't wait to see the sights!" he has proclaimed. It wasn't much but he got a glimpse of the city from the air as we flew over Manhattan on our way from Newark to Hartford this past weekend. Happily he was able to see the Statue of Liberty ("The Little Green Lady" he calls her). He was thrilled by this and exclaimed loudly "My wish came true!" Sometimes he is easily pleased.

Connor for his part was sacked out at the time. They were both good travelers as usual. On the way home Connor slept for almost all of the 3 hour flight from Newark. Jamie of course slept not at all, but stayed in very good spirits. Last night Sarah and I were almost completely wiped out and the two of them were still just bouncing off the walls at bedtime. Where does the energy come from? Unusually, however, they both got completely quiet almost immediately upon being put into bed, so I guess they really were tired.

Don't have a specific comment about this entry, but it seemed like a good time to say how excited I am when I see there's a new one. It's a lovely way to keep up with your goings on.

I would like to note that another dream came true that same weekend... Jamie finally got to experience the Utz cheese ball, that delicacy of a salty snack he saw featured in a movie and wanted to try. My mother rather sheepishly bought them, embarrassed to have such junk in her cart, and we all happily indulged. When the small bowl of snacks was empty, Connor (who still had three of them clutched in his chubby little fist) pointed to Leo and announced, "Dada ate ALL of them!"

Well, it was a bit of a feeding frenzy for all Costellos with the cheese balls...
